Campaign against judges on social media, Chief Justice decides to form a larger bench

Chief Justice Lahore High Court has decided to form a larger bench in connection with the campaign against Supreme Court judges on social media.

According to details, Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Qasim Khan heard a petition filed by local lawyer Nadeem Sarwar against anti-judicial propaganda on social media in which the petitioner took a stand that he campaigned against the Supreme Court and High Court judges on social media. Is going.

The petition further said that no agency including FIA has taken any action against those responsible so far.

The petitioner appealed to the court to order the concerned authorities to stop the campaign and take action against those responsible for it as the anti-judicial campaign falls under the category of contempt of court and is defaming the judiciary. Declaring the matter sensitive, it decided to form a larger bench to hear it.

It may be recalled that a few days ago, a three-member bench headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandial had held a hearing on NA-75 Daska. The Supreme Court stayed the polling in NA-75 Daska on April 10 and issued a restraining order. The Election Commission had on April 10 ordered re-polling in the entire constituency. After which the anti-judiciary campaign was launched by the PML-N’s media cell on social media.
